Managing Multiple Classes and Syncing In-class & At-home Progress

3 min. readlast update: 05.18.2024

This article is most relevant for educators who use ThinkHumanTV with more than one class/group, or educators who are using ThinkHumanTV in class while also assigning it to students to use independently.

In order to keep track different classes' progress, the first step is to create those classes in your educator account.

In order to create different classes, you'll first need to log in to your ThinkHumanTV account.

Once you log in, you'll see a list of any current classes that you're associated with in the center of the screen. To create a new class, simply click "Create New Class."

Note: depending on how your account was set up, your classes/groups may have been created for you. If that's the case, you should already be able to see the classes on your educator profile when you log in.

Tracking In-Classs Progress for Different Classes/Groups

Once you've created your relevant classes/groups, you'll be able to see those classes in the extension. Each class will be presented as a different "profile" in your account.

When you switch to Training Mode in the ThinkHumanTV browser extension, you will be prompted to choose a profile.

If you select a profile associated with a class/group, the progress you make in the curriculum will only be reflected for that profile. This allows you to track the progress of different classes separately.

The progress you make in a given class/group profile will also be reflected for individual group members. For example: suppose you complete Module 1 while having a particular class/group profile selected. When learners who are part of that class/group log into their individual ThinkHumanTV accounts, they will see Module 1 as complete and will be automatically directed to Module 2.

If you don't want such progress syncing to occur (e.g. you just want to preview a module in the browser extension) you will want to select the default profile, which will usually be labeled with your name.

Tracking Homework Progress

If members of a class complete a module on their own (e.g. as homework), you may want this progress to be reflected in the group profile. In this case, you may choose to manually mark modules as completed for that class. You can do so by first selecting the profile, and then clicking on the title of the current unit in the browser extension and clicking 'Mark as Complete.' This will complete the current module and take you to the next module.
